India Women Win First-Ever T20I Series vs England
Harmanpreet Kaur and her team created a historic moment in women’s cricket on Wednesday by winning their maiden T20I series against England. The 6-wicket victory in the fourth T20I sealed the five-match series 3-1, marking the first time India Women have claimed a T20I bilateral series win of more than two matches against England.
This achievement is especially significant as it came on English soil, where India had previously lost all six bilateral T20I series. The Indian side showed remarkable consistency throughout the series, starting with wins in the first two games, including a century by Smriti Mandhana in the opener. Although England made a strong comeback in the third T20I, India responded with a dominant performance at Edgbaston.
Clinical Performance Secures Series Victory
In the fourth match, England opted to bat first but were restricted to just 126/7, thanks to disciplined bowling from Shree Charani and Radha Yadav, who picked two wickets each. Sophia Dunkley was England’s top scorer with 22 runs.
India chased down the target comfortably, with important contributions from Smriti Mandhana (32), Shafali Verma (31), Jemimah Rodrigues (24), and captain Harmanpreet Kaur (26). The visitors secured the win with 18 balls to spare, as Amanjot Kaur and Richa Ghosh remained unbeaten to take India over the line.

With one match left in the series, Harmanpreet is now eyeing a 4-1 finish. The fifth and final T20I will be played on Saturday, July 12, at Edgbaston, and India will look to carry their momentum into another victory.
