Harshit Rana Fined for Aggressive Send-Off in DPL 2025
India pacer Harshit Rana faced a fine for an aggressive send-off during the Delhi Premier League 2025 (DPL).
Incident Details
The incident occurred in Match 19 at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Monday. Rana, leading the North Delhi Strikers, dismissed West Delhi batter Ayush Doseja with a fast delivery that shattered a bail. Immediately after, he made a provocative gesture, seemingly telling the batter to “go away.”
Penalty and Code of Conduct
As a result, the DPL fined Rana 10% of his match fees for breaching the Code of Conduct. He admitted to a Level 1 Offence under Article 2.5, which involves using language, actions, or gestures that could provoke aggression. Consequently, Rana accepted the Match Referee’s sanction.
Other Fines in the Match
Meanwhile, in the same game, North Delhi Strikers batter Yajas Sharma and West Delhi Lions batter Krish Yadav were fined 20% of their fees for separate incidents.
Rana’s Past Disciplinary Record
Moreover, Rana’s on-field aggression is not new. In IPL 2024, his send-off against the Delhi Capitals led to a one-match suspension.
