Yashasvi Jaiswal Warns Sudharsan After Run-Out Scare
A dramatic moment unfolded on Day 1 of the fourth Test between India and England in Manchester when Sai Sudharsan nearly caused a run-out. Sudharsan, playing in place of Karun Nair at No. 3, had a nervy start to his innings. In the 37th over, he attempted a risky single before the ball even passed the mid-on fielder. Yashasvi Jaiswal, the non-striker at the other end, wasn’t ready and had to pull back. The ball luckily missed the fielder, avoiding a disastrous run-out.
Jaiswal immediately reacted, giving Sudharsan a firm reminder: “Sai, ball jaane toh de yaar” — a message that was caught on the stump mic and quickly went viral among fans online.
India’s Top Order Crumbles After Steady Start
After a stable opening stand of 96 between Jaiswal and KL Rahul, India lost momentum in the second session. Rahul was dismissed by Chris Woakes for 46, followed by Jaiswal, who was caught in the slips off Liam Dawson after a fluent 58. The biggest setback came when captain Shubman Gill was trapped LBW by Ben Stokes for 12, leaving India at 149/3 by Tea.
Earlier in the day, KL Rahul joined the elite list of Indian batters with over 1,000 Test runs in England, alongside legends like Gavaskar, Dravid, Tendulkar, and Kohli. Despite early pressure from England’s pace trio, India’s openers showed resilience. However, the middle order now has the task of rebuilding after the quick dismissals.
India finished the session with Sudharsan batting on 26 and Rishabh Pant on 3, hoping to recover from the sudden collapse.
