Yash Dayal Seeks Stay on Arrest in Exploitation Case
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) bowler Yash Dayal has approached the Allahabad High Court seeking protection from arrest in a case filed against him by a woman. The cricketer was recently booked by Ghaziabad Police under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for alleged mental and physical exploitation under the pretext of marriage.
The woman claims she was in a relationship with Dayal for five years, during which he promised to marry her. According to her complaint, she was introduced to his family and treated like a daughter-in-law. However, she alleges that she was later deceived, emotionally and physically exploited, and subjected to mental harassment when she protested.
Yash Dayal’s Legal Response in Court
In his writ petition, Yash Dayal has denied any physical relationship with the woman. The petition states that although she was introduced to his parents, this showed he had genuine intentions, not deceit. Dayal argued that over time, he realized he would not be able to marry her and decided to end the relationship.
The petition further said that even if the woman’s claims were taken as true, it would amount only to a failure to fulfill a promise—not a false promise made with dishonest intent. It also claimed that the relationship was mutual and later soured due to the complainant’s behavior.
Police and Public Response
The case has received attention from the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s portal, which directed the local police to investigate. The complaint mentions that Dayal may have been involved in similar false relationships with other women.
While the court has not yet issued a final decision, the matter continues to draw significant public and legal scrutiny. The upcoming hearings will determine the next course of action in this controversial case.
